Christ Invites You to Walk with Him and Truly Live

Ephesians 2: 10

For we are His workmanship (masterpiece), created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;

Before you were born I sanctified you:

I ordained you a prophet (fill in your kingdom missions) to the nations.

Christ invites each of us to come just as we are and begin a life-long journey of walking with Him to thrive in the unique and incredible masterpiece lives He designed. He knew each of us and had wonderful plans for us long before we were born. All are invited to move beyond the average Christian life to the fullness of life experienced by those who receive Christ, surrender everything to His will, and joyously walk under the control and authority of His Spirit.

What does it really mean to live that unique and incredible life? And how might that life be different than the average Christian’s life? God would awaken us to the specific purpose and “kingdom” missions that He designed for us. These would become our primary focus. The important priorities of family, work, friendship, etc. would take on greater meaning and be approached much more effectively. Accordingly, we would become as the Apostle Paul described in the book of Ephesians: “God’s masterpiece.” In other words, we would be transformed through God’s specific journey of “walking in His Spirit” rather than in our flesh.

Learning the difference between walking in His Spirit and living in our flesh is dependent on a deeply personal relationship with Christ, and His revelations of the truth of the Bible. It is not about religion, rules or engaging in the futile efforts of attempting to “act like Christ.” It is about transformations that His Spirit accomplishes as He lives both in and through us. These begin through our personal encounter with Jesus. We recognize that He is who He says He is, and we want and need all of Him in our lives. We then must choose. Many decide to retain control of their lives and consequentially miss most of His masterpiece plans. Those who choose to surrender and place everything under the authority of His Spirit will journey with Him to become all He designed. We fully experience the ever-present wonder of walking with the best Father ever. Not only does His Spirit reside within us, but we learn to listen, hear, and obey His voice in every situation. We truly live as we prioritize walking with Christ and focusing on our specific kingdom missions through His power.

Nothing we have ever done or ever will do can change the depth of Christ’s love for us. It is complete, has always been so, and is not dependent on our behaviors. When we give Him all of ourselves, He utilizes us just as we are. We walk with Him on His journey into maturity in Christ. Many Christians talk about this journey but live according to their own desires.

Accept His invitation and join Him in this life of His love, freedom, and power. Become all He created you to be as you permit Him to live that life in and through you. A great tragedy in the Christian Church is that most Christians leave this earth with much of Christ’s masterpiece lives left unlived and stifled within them. He does not want that to occur for any of us, beginning with you. Set aside the life of average Christianity. Walk with Him and truly experience the unique and incredible kingdom life that is to be yours in Christ. Nothing of your masterpiece life in Christ will left within.
